The approach

Planning first. Products almost never.

Most people arrive with a pile of accounts and no thesis. We start by writing the thesis — what the money is for, when it is needed, and what it must survive — and only then decide what it should own.

01

Discovery

A structured two-hour session covering income, obligations, equity comp, family commitments and the things you would rather not put in a spreadsheet. Nothing is recommended in this meeting.

02

The written plan

Cash-flow modelling, tax projection, risk mapping and a target allocation — delivered as a document you can read, challenge and keep, independent of whether you hire me.

03

Stewardship

Quarterly reviews, annual tax coordination with your CPA, and a standing rule: no trade, no change, no product without a written reason tied back to the plan.

Services

Four mandates, one relationship.

Engagements are annual and flat-fee. Most clients use two or three of the mandates below; a handful use all four.

Mandate 01

Comprehensive financial planning

A single plan that reconciles cash flow, debt, insurance, education funding and retirement into one set of numbers that agree with each other.

  • Cash-flow and liquidity modelling
  • Retirement and drawdown sequencing
  • Risk and insurance review

Mandate 02

Investment management

Low-cost, globally diversified portfolios built around your actual time horizons — rebalanced on rules, not on headlines or hunches.

  • Evidence-based allocation
  • Tax-loss harvesting
  • Concentrated-position unwinding

Mandate 03

Equity compensation & liquidity events

For founders and senior operators: RSU, ISO and NSO strategy through vesting, secondaries, tender offers and the year the company finally sells.

  • AMT and 83(b) analysis
  • 10b5-1 and diversification planning
  • Pre-liquidity tax positioning

Mandate 04

Estate & multigenerational planning

Coordination with your attorney and CPA so the structure on paper matches the way your family actually works — and keeps working after you.

  • Trust and titling review
  • Gifting and charitable strategy
  • Family governance conversations

About

Twenty-two years of saying no to the easy sale.

I spent the first decade of my career inside two large Manhattan wirehouses, where the best advice and the best-compensated advice were rarely the same thing. In 2014 I left to build a fee-only practice with no product shelf and no sales targets.

Today I advise roughly sixty households across New York, Connecticut and New Jersey — founders mid-liquidity, law and medical partners, and families managing a second or third generation of wealth. The practice is deliberately capped so that every plan is written, reviewed and defended by the person you actually hired.

Questions

Before you get in touch.

The things most people ask in the first ten minutes, answered here so the first conversation can be about you instead.

How are you paid?

A flat annual fee agreed in advance, billed quarterly. No commissions, no product revenue, no payment from any third party. If a recommendation earns me nothing, it is still the recommendation you get.

Is there a minimum?

There is no asset minimum, but engagements start at $9,500 per year, which makes the practice a poor fit for simpler situations. If that is your case, I am glad to point you toward someone appropriate at no charge.

Do you hold my money?

No. Assets are custodied at an independent third-party custodian in your name. I have authority to advise and trade, never to move funds to myself.

What happens in the first meeting?

Forty-five minutes, no cost, no documents required. We establish what you are trying to accomplish and whether this practice is the right instrument for it. You will not be sold anything in that call.

Next step

Forty-five minutes. No cost, no pitch.

Bring one question you have never had answered properly. If this practice is not the right fit, I will tell you in the first call and point you somewhere better.
